What to Check After a Drone Crash
A drone crash will result in visible and hidden damage. Common areas to inspect following a crash or hard landing are provided by KZone Aero.
Following a drone crash or hard landing, some damages may be visible right away while others may not be.
Visible damages might include the drone arms, propellers, shell, landing gears, motors, gimbal, camera, battery connection, and sensors. Even if the drone powers up successfully, hidden damage could impact the drone's safe operation, camera stability or calibration capabilities.
Some examples of issues to look out for include gimbal shake, camera angle offset, motor errors, unexpected noises, vibrations, connections issues, and repeated calibration warnings.
Test flying the drone multiple times to see what happens after a crash should be avoided. A more thorough inspection can determine what the underlying causes of the problem could be.
These may be related to visible damage, calibration, sensors, camera components or any other internal part of the drone.
